WIND-INDUCED DYNAMIC RESPONSE OF LARGE THIN-WALLED STEEL TUBE FRAME FOR 1000kV SUBSTATION

  • 1000 kV substation frame is wind-sensitive and the wind load governs structure design. Based on the multi-modal force method and modal decoupling principle, the multi-modal explicit integration method (MMEIM) is proposed to estimate the wind-induced response of substation frame. This method is illustrated further through the analysis of a large thin-walled steel tube frame for 1000kV substation. The wind-induced dynamic responses of the structure were obtained in the time domain, including Mean nodal displacement, RMS displacement and RMS acceleration. Meanwhile, the gust loading factor and gust displacement factor at key nodes for different wind directions were also calculated and compared. This study demonstrates some characteristics of wind-induced dynamic responses of 1000 kV substation frame, and the proposed method and analysis results can provide reference for the design of large substation frame structures.
