CALCULATION METHOD FOR BENDING CAPACITY OF CONCRETE BEAMS STRENGTHENED WITH PRE-STRESSED NEAR SURFACE MOUNTED CARBON FIBER REINFORCED PLASTIC BAR

  • The failure modes, ultimate flexural limit states and calculation methods are investigated on strengthening concrete beams with pre-stressed near surface mounted carbon fiber reinforced plastic bar. The calculating formula of ultimate flexural loads corresponding to different failure modes are presented, the results of which are in good agreement with the experimental ones and may act as a reference for practical engineering designs.
