IN-PLANE VIBRATION OF THE CABLE-STAYED CURVED BEAM STRUCTURE

  • The in-plane dynamic characteristic of the cable-stayed curved beam structure is investigated. Using the Hamilton variation principle, the linear equations governing the motion of the cable and the curved beam and the boundary conditions of the cable-stayed curved beam structure are obtained. Then with given displacement boundary conditions of the cable-stayed curved beam, the eigenvalue of the cable and the curved beam can be derived. Moreover, the natural frequencies of the cable-stayed curved beam structure are obtained. By comparing with the results of the finite element method, the effects of radius and section of the curved beam and inclined angle of the cable on the natural frequencies are discussed. The results show that the natural frequencies of the structure are related to the mass ratio of the cable to the curved beam, the radius of the curved beam, and the inclined angle of the cable.
