GEOMETRICALLY NONLINEAR FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS OF DEPLOYABLE SPACE STRUCTURES

  • Deployable space structure is one of the new types of structures. Its member is a scissor-like element (SLE) which is quite different from conventional grids. In this paper, the geometrically non-linearfinite element analysis is presented with the tangent stiffness matrix derived for a three-node element. Some numerical results for a barrel vault are given.
