INTERFACE STRESS ELEMENT METHOD FOR DISCRETE MODEL WITH ELEMENTS OF ARBITRARY SHAPE

  • Interface Stress Element Method (ISEM) for solving non-continuous medium problems has been formed in paper1.It has been broadly used and has been proved to have high accuracy and efficiency both in theory and in application. With further study, ISEM could also be used in calculation of discrete model with elements of arbitrary shape. Using natural coordinate, algorithm of ISEM for elements of arbitrary shape has been performed. Numerical examples given in this paper show that the algorithm is feasible and its accuracy is satisfactory.
