STUDY ON THE STRUCTURAL STRENGTH OF UNSATURATED SOILS

The concept of structural strength is presented in this paper. Based on the structuralmodel of expansive soils, a formula on structural strength is obtained as τ_s=cu_s^αtgø¹.The suitable conditions of the structural strength formula are discussed. The formula is also extended to other unsaturated soils.
