VARIABLE STIFFNESS CONTROL OF SEISMIC-EXCITED ADJACENT-BUILDINGS

  • The Semiative Variable Stickness System (SVSS) has been proposed as a structural vibration control system, The variable stiffness alters its state according as the controlled smicture absorbs or releases the motion energy, This paper proposes the SVSS as a smictural vibration control system of adjacent-buildings, The general equation of the SVSS is established,Analytical simulation of controlled systems with two degrees of freedom is made, Analytical results indicate that the SVSS is capable of alleviating efficiently the vibration of seismic-excited adjacent-buildings.
