CONSTANT DUCTILITY INELASTIC DISPLACEMENT SPECTRUM AND ITS APPLICATION

  • Artificial earthquake ground motions are generated according to the response spectrum specified in the Code for Seismic Design of Buildings. By nonlinear time history analysis of SDOF systems, influence of hysteretic model and post-yield stiffness on the inelastic displacement spectrum is discussed. Relationship between the maximum inelastic displacement and period for SDOF systems with displacement ductility ratio of 1~8, i.e., the constant ductility inelastic displacement spectra, are established for seismic fortification intensity 8, site soil classification Ⅱ and Ⅲ, and design seismic group 1. Application of the constant ductility inelastic displacement spectrum to the displacement-based seismic design of building structures is introduced by a sample calculation.
