NATURAL FREQUENCIES OF LAMINATED COMPOSITE ELLIPTICAL PLATES

  • This paper is concerned with free vibration analysis of laminated composite elliptical plates. The global Ritz energy method is employed to derive the governing eigenvalue equation. A set of orthogonall complete polynomials is taken as trial functions which include a basic function satisfying various boundary constraints. Reddy's higher-order shear deformation theory is used to account for the effects of transverse shear deformation. Comparison is made with other available solutions. The accuracy of computed natural frequencies and the convergence of the present approach are demonstrated.
