PERTURBATION STOCHASTIC ANALYSIS OF BUILDINGS WITH RANDOM GEOMETRIC BOUNDARY

  • In view of the randomness of the movement and deformation of rock strata under buildings in a mining area, the effect of the movement and deformation of the ground bottom on the additional stresses of the building is studied in the paper. Considering the interaction of ground-foundation-building and the random deformation field of ground bottom. Perturbation Stochastic Finite Element Method (P.S.FEM) is adopted to calculate the additional stresses of the building. It is shown that the present method offers accurate prediction of stresses. The present work provides useful guidelines on optimum design, protection and maintenance of buildings in a mining area.
