DUCTILITY REQUIREMENT IN THE MOMENT REDISTRIBUTION OF PRESTRESSED CONCRETE CONTINUOUS BEAMS

  • Principle of energy is used to study the moment redistribution and the section curvature ductility in reinforced and prestressed concrete continuous beams. The emphasis of the paper is placed on the influence of the secondary moment and the axial prestress on the moment redistribution. It is shown that the secondary moment can facilitate the moment redistribution when the rotational capacity of plastic hinge is not enough.
