THE STRESS AND DEFORMATION OF PARTIALLY PRESTRESSED CONCRETE BEAMS

  • With the step-by-step finite element method and the age-adjusted effective modulus method, sectional stresses and deformations of partially prestressed concrete beam at various loading stages have been analyzed in this paper. The analysis accounts for the time-dependent effects of creep and shrinkage of concrete and relaxation of prestressed steel which includes the effects of cracking when the tensile strength of concrete is exceeded. A computer program of partially prestressed concrete beam has been developed to perform the analysis. The sectional stresses and deformations of a partially prestressed concrete beam are analyzed in detail.
