DYNAMIC RESPONSE ANALYSIS OF FOUNDATION IN THE FREQUENCY DOMAIN

  • The dynamic response of 3-dimensional shaking-table foundation to steady-state forces is analyzed based on the numerical simulation of the rigid rectangular foundation. A general lumped-parameter model is presented to correct the irrationality of traditional dynamic foundation design method, in which the spring stiffness and damping coefficients of the mass-spring-damping model are constant in the whole frequency band. The general lumped parameter model introduced in this paper offers more accurate results than the traditional method for dynamic stiffness matrix of foundation is frequency-dependent. It is expected that the general lumped-parameter model will improve the dynamic foundation design.
