EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF BEARING AND DEFORMATION BEHAVIOR OF SQUEEZED BRANCH PILE AND ITS BEARING CAPACITY CALCULATION

  • Based on the results of static loading tests and measurement of axial forces, the load-transferring mechanism and deformation behavior of vertically loaded squeezed branch piles are investigated and discussed in this paper. An equation is developed to calculate the vertical bearing capacity of a single pile. The obvious time effect and end-bearing behavior of bearing disks are pointed out by means of analyses. The high bearing capacity and S-shaped Q-S curve of squeezed branch piles are highlighted.
