RITZ METHOD FOR SEISMIC RESPONSE ANALYSIS OF JIANGYIN SUSPENDED BRIDGE WITH NON-CLASSICAL DAMPING

  • Jiangyin Suspended Bridge consists of a steel deck and two concrete towers, which leads to non-uniform distribution of damping on the complete bridge and makes the dynamic equation coupling in the normal coordinates. The real Ritz vector generated by utilizing the load dependent vector in the Lanczos process together with pseudo-force iteration method are used to analyze seismic responses of Jiangyin suspended bridge considering non-classical damping. The load dependent vector algorithms employ recurrence equations analogous to the Lanczos algorithm. Solutions of seismic responses of Jiangyin Bridge show that this method has much higher efficiency than the modal superposition procedure. It is also concluded that the non-classical damping has a significant influence on the seismic responses of Jiangyin Suspended Bridge.
