A GENERALIZED CONFORMING PLANE ELEMENT BASED ON ANALYTICAL TRIAL FUNCTIONS

  • A generalized conforming plane element with drilling degrees of freedom is developed with analytical trial functions in this paper. From the governing equations of elastic plane problem and the Airy stress function, complete basic analytical solutions are first derived and then used as the trial functions to formulate the element: ATF-SCQ4θ. Numerical examples show that the proposed high precision element is free from mesh sensitivity and exhibits excellent performance.
