EXPERIMENTAL STUDY AND NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF MOVING TRAIN INDUCED VIBRATIONS ON HIGH-RISE BUILDINGS

  • Using experiments and numerical analysis, the vibration characteristics and influencing factors of high-rise buildings induced by moving trains are studied. The results show that the structural vibrations are of low-frequency characteristic;and higher vibrations are induced for buildings on soft subsoil than those on rigid subsoil. The structural vibrations show zigzag tendencies with an increase in floor elevation, and the vertical vibrations of floors are higher than the horizontal ones.Higher train speed induces larger structural vibrations, and heavier freight trains induce greater vibrations than lighter passenger trains. The entire stiffness of a building affects the floor vibrations, which is more complex on vertical vibrations than horizontal ones. The closer a building is to the track, the larger the structural vibrations would be.
