FEASIBILITY ANALYSIS OF NATURAL VENTILATION USING SMOKING SHAFT IN HIGH-RISE BUILDINGS

  • Theoretical and numerical studies are performed to analyze a smoke extraction system using smoking shaft.Results show that the most important factors which influence the efficiency of smoke extraction are the smoke temperature,viscosity along the smoking shaft and outside thermal resistance.The smoke movement is accelerated by smoke temperature,but detained by the viscosity and thermal resistance.Finally,it is shown that with proper design of the smoking shaft,dynamic smoke pressure can be enhanced and the efficiency of smoke ventilation improved.
