TRANSIENT RESPONSE OF IN TERFACE CRACK BETWEEN MAGNETO-ELECTRO-ELASTIC LAYER AND DISSIMILAR HALF-INFINITE MEDIUM

  • The dynamic responses of an interface crack between a magneto-electro-elastic layer and a dissimilar magneto-electro-elastic medium subjected to anti-plane mechanical and in-plane magneto-electrical impacts are investigated. Impermeable magneto-electric boundary condition on crack surface is assumed. Laplace and Fourier transforms and dislocation density functions are employed to reduce the mixed boundary value problem into Cauchy singular integral equations in Laplace transform domain. Numerical results are presented graphically. The effects of electric impact loads, magnetic impact loads, geometry criterion of magneto-electro-elastic layer and material properties on the dynamic energy release rates are discussed. The solution of this problem is expected to be useful for the investigation of dynamic fracture properties of magneto-electro-elastic materials with cracks.
