DIRECT DISPLACEMENT-BASED DESIGN FOR BUILDINGS WITH PASSIVE ENERGY DISSIPATION DEVICES

  • Iterative process is shortened through the idea that the design procedure focuses on the structural component, and dissipation energy system makes up the insufficiency of the intensity. The design procedure is close to the China Code. Displacement response spectrum is established by the method, which translates the acceleration response spectrum from the China Code to the absolute-displacement response spectrum. The results of numerical examples show that the design procedure is feasible and satisfies the precision requirement of civil engineering.
