COMPLEX MODAL MATRIX PERTURBATION METHOD FOR ENERGY DISSIPATION SYSTEMS

  • Changing parameters and non-proportional damping is usually encountered in the optimum analysis and design of structures with energy dissipaters. Double iterative computations are necessary to compute the generalized Eigen value accurately, which is very complicated. A complex modal matrix perturbation method for symmetrical systems is deduced for optimum analysis of non-proportionally damped structures. The method is proved to be efficient by the numerical example.
