A SCREW DISLOCATION INTERACTING WITH AN INTERFACIAL EDGE CRACK IN A MAGNETO-ELECTRO-ELASTIC BI-MATERIAL STRIP

  • The interaction between a screw dislocation and an interfacial edge crack in a magneto-electro-elastic (MEE) bi-material strip was investigated. By using the image dislocation principle and the conformal mapping method, the closed-form expressions of the elastic, electrical and magnetic fields induced by the dislocation are obtained. The intensity factors of stress, electrical displacement and magnetic induction as well as the image force acting on the dislocation are given explicitly. For the strip consisting of the piezoelectric and piezomagnetic phases, the characteristics of the stress, electric displacement and magnetic induction as well as the influences of geometric parameters and coupling effects on the interaction are analyzed in detail.
