APPLICATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF MECHANICS ON AIRCRAFT STRUCTURAL DESIGN

  • The mechanical problem related to the aircraft structure design is described. Based on the research and development works in recent a few years, some applications and development for the mechanics used in the aircraft structure design are introduced, for example, fracture mechanics computation and risk evaluation for the widespread fatigue damage (WFD) in the fuselage, the strength problems for the windshield against the bird-impact and dynamic problems of the landing gear, as well as the delamination and matrix cracking in the composite laminates under the low-velocity impact.
