CALCULATION AND INFLUENCE FACTOR ANALYSIS ON LATERAL BEARING CAPACITY OF SQUEEZED BRANCH AND PLATE PILE

  • Based on the analytical solution of Zhang method for a straight pile under lateral loads, the squeezed branch and plate pile is divided into different parts in accordance with the diameter of each part, and using analytical solution of Zhang in every part. Using the deformation compatibility conditions on common points, boundary conditions and initial conditions, the equilibrium equations are listed and analyzed. The analytical solution of the squeezed branch and plate pile is obtained and the lateral displacement is calculated under a certain lateral load. The results of finite element method are shown to be in good agreement with that of the analytical solution, and then the influence factors of the pile itself and soil around the pile to lateral bearing capacity under lateral loads are studied in detail.
