EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON ASEISMIC BEHAVIOR OF SCATTERED SHEAR WALL-SRC FRAME-BENT STRUCTURE IN LARGE-SCALE THERMAL POWER PLANT

  • A scattered shear wall-SRC frame-bent hybrid structure is a new structure system which could satisfy a higher aseismic requirement in large-scale thermal power plant. A 1∶7 scaled specimen which had three-span seven-layers were subjected to conduct the pseudo-dynamic and pseudo-static tests. An experimental study was focused on the mechanical properties, hysteresis, deformations and cooperative work performance, etc. The experimental results showed that the cracks of this type of irregular structures were widespread and exhibited an obvious weak layer which was mainly located at the stiffness mutation positions like the upper shear walls, column variable cross-sections and abnormal joints. The structure finally destroyed as the beam side-way ductility failure mechanism. As a result of the influences of the scattered shear walls and SRC columns, performances like ductility and failure modes of the structure were improved substantially. The test results indicated that the prototype structure could satisfy the demand of the aseismic design in 8 intensity zones or higher, the aseismic performances were improved remarkably compared to the homogeneous traditional RC frame-bent structures.
