RESEARCH ON THE STRENGTH DETECTION METHOD OF BRICKS IN HISTORICAL CONSERVATION BUILDINGS

  • In this paper, the brick strength in historical conservation buildings is detected by non-destructive testing. By using rebound method, ultrasonic method and ultrasonic-rebound combined method for testing artificial bricks, the strength formulas were set up through regression analysis. And then the strength of brick, which has similar damage situation to that of the historical conservation building, was tested. The result shows that: the empirical formulas can be used in the testing of historical conservation buildings with the same type; the calculated value with ultrasonic-rebound combined method is more accurate than that with rebound method or ultrasonic method. Finally, the detection method is presented.
