APPLICATION OF ULTRA HIGH TOUGHNESS CEMENTITIOUS COMPOSITES IN FLEXURAL MEMBERS

  • The ultra high toughness cementitious composite (UHTCC) shows excellent non-linear deformation capacity, energy absorption and crack control ability. In order to investigate the application of this material in flexural members, experimental tests on steel reinforced UHTCC flexural members and flexural members in which UHTCC material was used as a replacement of concrete pretection cover have been carried out. Compared with ordinary reinforced concrete flexural members, the results indicated that the UHTCC material could keep deformation compatibility with steel reinforcements and improve load bearing capacity and ductility, meanwhile, the crack width of flexural members was also well controlled.
