PROGRESS AND PROSPECT IN REARCH ON CONCRETE FILLED CFRP-STEEL TUBULAR STRUCTURES

  • The so-called concrete filled CFRP-steel tubular (CFRP-CFST) structure is obtained by infilling concrete into the precasted CFRP-steel tube, or by strengthening, repairing and reinforcing concrete filled steel tubular (CFST) structures with CFRP due to the requirement of new functions or due to slight damage. CFRP-CFST can perform the advantages of the high strength for concrete under tri-axial compression, and it can also simultaneously avoid the buckling of the steel tube. Therefore, it has higher bearing capacity and better durability. The present study of static behaviour as well as the hysteretic behaviour on CFRP-CFST structure is introduced here, which includes experimental study, finite element simulation, theoretical analysis, bearing capacity index and configuration measures. Finally, the advances and the perspectives in the future work on the CFRP-CFST under combined loading and its fire resistance, the frame structure and the structural system are presented.
