A REFINED THEORY OF MAGNETOELASTIC PLATES

  • Cheng's refined theory is extended to magnetoelastic plates, and an extension of recent analyses for magnetoelastic plates is given. Expressions are obtained for all displacements and stress components in terms of the mid-plane displacement, and its derivatives. Using Lur'e method, the refined theory of magnetoelastic plates is given from the linear boundary conditions of the magnetoelastic plate. When the high-order terms are omitted, the equation in terms of deflection of the refined theory turns into the classical equation for the deflection curve of a thin magnetoelastic plate. It is derived by utilizing a general solution of the magnetoelasticity developed by Huang and Wang.
