STUDY ON THE DESIGN APPROACH OF PRECAST SHEAR WALLS WITH DRY CONNECTION

  • In recent years, precast shear walls are widely used in practical engineering. Horizontally adjacent prefabricated wall panels are assembled together with the help of post-casted areas during construction. Considerable amounts of on-site casting work are still required. Accordingly, dry connection has become one of the appealing alternatives for further increasing the construction efficiency and seismic properties of precast structures. This research was carried out for both the finite element analysis and design approach of a new type of precast shear wall with dry connection. The finite element model of a one-storied precast shear wall with dry connection was established to exert the same loading protocol as that of the prior quasi-static test. The simulation results showed a good agreement with the test results, and the effectiveness of the model was validated. Based on the same modeling method, two 10-storey models of precast shear walls with different parameters was established, and pushover analysis was performed to optimize the design of connectors in high-rise building structures. According to the FEA results, a modal-based design approach of precast shear walls with dry connection in high-rise building structures was proposed.
