RESEARCH PROGRESS ON INFLUENCE OF INFILL WALL ON PROGRESSIVE COLLAPSE OF STRUCTURE

  • As one of the most commonly used non-structural components, the influences of infill wall on the seismic performance of structures have been widely recognized, and it is considered that ignoring its existence in the analysis and design is not compatible with the actual condition. However, up to now, only limited knowledge about its influences on the progressive collapse resistance of a structure have been obtained. The existence of infill wall can improve the initial stiffness and resistance of the structure during progressive collapse, change the load transfer path, and eventually change the failure mode and failure location of the structure. This paper systematically reviews the research state-of-the-art of the influences of infill wall on progressive collapse of structures from three aspects: experimental research, numerical analysis and design method. The research status of progressive collapse test of an infill-wall frame structure based on the dismantling component method in two different scenarios of field and laboratory are introduced. The numerical simulation methods for progressive collapse of the infill-wall frame structure are summarized, including macro simulation and fine simulation. The progressive collapse resistance design methods of the infill-wall frame structure are summarized. On this basis, the shortcomings of existing research and the suggestions for future research in this field are analyzed.
