NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF MIXED CONVECTIVE HEAT TRANSFER CHARACTERISTICS IN LONG SPAN COAL SHEDS

  • The machine operation in the coal shed and the oxidizing heat release of coal will lead to the decline of indoor air quality and threaten the health of workers. Therefore, it is very important to improve the wind speed at the entrance of the coal shed to accelerate the convective heat dissipation in the shed. The characteristics of convective heat transfer in the large span coal shed space with double rows of coal piles (double heat sources) were studied by using two-dimensional numerical simulation method. By changing four conditions of inlet wind speed setting, the transient evolution process of flow heat transfer in the coal shed was studied, and the flow diagram and temperature cloud diagram of the coal shed in the initial stage, evolution stage and full development stage were given. The spatial distribution of temperature on the Central Line of the coal shed and the transient evolution of temperature at various monitoring points were quantitatively described. The mixed symmetrical heat transfer in the coal shed was summarized to provide reference for the optimization of ventilation scheme in the coal shed and the improvement of working environment.
