Seismic behavior analysis of prestressed concrete frame structure under near-fault pulsed ground motions

  • It has become necessary to analyze the seismic performance of the PC frame structure under the near-fault ground motion in engineering. Two prestressed concrete frames are designed according to current standard, and the finite element models are established on the OpenSees platform. The dynamic response of the frame under the excitation of near-fault plused ground motions and near-fault non-plused ground motions is studied. The results show that:under the rare earthquakes, the response of the PC frame structure is more frequent than that of the earthquake. When the structure enters the plastic stage, the near-fault plused ground motions will cause larger response in the PC frame structure than the near-fault non-plused ground motions. When the peak ground acceleration (PGA) is the same, the near-fault plused seismic excitation will cause large response to the PC frame structure with long vibration period under rare earthquakes. It is necessary to study the applicability of the current code in the near field in the case of constructing prestressed concrete frame structures there.
