Analysis of bending stiffness and contact slip of a steel-concrete composite beam with double actions of combination and lamination

  • The application and development of steel-concrete composite continuous beam is haltered due to the cracking of concrete slab in the negative moment zone. A steel-concrete composite beam with double actions of combination and lamination is proposed in this paper, of which the interface between the upper steel flange and the top concrete slab is connected by uplift connectors, which allows for the free sliding in laminated interface in the negative moment region, so that to release the tensile stress in concrete slab and reduce its cracking risk. The bending stiffness of cross section considering the friction resistance was obtained. The contact slip and the slip strain along the interface under uniform and concentrated loads were respectively analyzed, and then the variations of the slip and slip strain with different friction coefficients along the beam length were obtained.
