Real time hybrid test of seismic performance of laminated nature rubber bearings

  • By using Laminated nature rubber bearing (LNR bearings), structural periods is extended and the transmission of energy from substructure to superstructure is isolated so that negative influence of seismicity is reduced accordingly during earthquakes. In this paper, Real Time hybrid test (RTH) is proposed to study dynamic characteristics of LNR bearings. RTH tests and test equipments were introduced firstly. Then, the influence of loading rate, vertical pressure and peak acceleration of ground motion on the seismic performance of LNR bearings were investigated. The results show that the loading rate has significant influence on the horizontal equivalent stiffness and damping ratio.
