EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON THE INFLUENCE OF ACID RAIN ON THE COMPRESSIVE BEHAVIORS OF RECYCLED AGGREGATE CONCRETE SOLID BRICK MASONRY

  • In order to study the effect of acid rain on the compressive behaviors of recycled aggregate concrete solid brick masonry, this paper conducted the spray-light cycle accelerated corrosion test and the axial compression test for 32 identical specimens in artificial atmosphere environment. The compressive strength, damage mode, elastic modulus and stress-strain curves were analyzed with the increase of the number of spray-light cycle. The results indicate that the specimens after acid rain corrosion are associated with smaller cracking load, earlier initiation of cracking, and more severe damage. The slope of stress-strain curve and elastic modulus gradually decrease with the increase of spray-light cycles, while the compressive strength increases at the early stage before the decreasing at the latter stage. After 300 spray-light cycles, the compressive strength decreases by 29% and the elastic modulus decreases by 42%.
