NUMERICAL ANALYSIS FOR SEISMIC BEHAVIOR OF SELF-CENTERING POST-TENSIONED PRECAST BEAM-TO-COLUMN CONNECTIONS

  • The self-centering post-tensioned precast frames(simplified as PTED frames) have unique mechanical properties. To evaluate the seismic performance of the PTED frames, a modeling method is proposed for the PTED connections based on the finite element software OpenSees. Numerical analysis of the five PTED connections which were tested under cyclic reversal loads are performed, and the numerical results are compared with the experimental results. The results showed that the hysteresis curves of the specimen throughout the testing process can be accurately simulated by OpenSees. The load and displacement of each corresponding limit state agrees well with the experimental results, while the mechanical behavior of the angles, prestressing tendons and the beam end cross section can also been accurately simulated. Therefore, the numerical simulation results of the proposed method agrees well with experimental results, and the numerical simulation can satisfy engineering requirements of precision.
