RESEARCH ON TLD CONTROL TO ENVIRONMENTAL VIBRATION OF HIGH-RISE BUILDINGS

  • In order to deal with environmental resonance issue of high-rise buildings in a community located in Shanghai,this paper suggests the application of bidirectional tuned TLDs as an approach to control the vibration of structures in two horizontal directions. Finite-element analysis results from program ANSYS have shown that the structure is well controlled in both horizontal directions and vertical direction, thereby meeting the requirement of comfortableness. Furthermore, by analyzing the feasibility of different TLD layout plans, this paper provides a proposed plan which meets both the structural bearing capacity and the layout requirements.
