DOUBLE MESHED STRESS FINITE DIFFERENCE METHOD AND ITS APPLICATIONS

  • By applying arbitrary quadrilateral cells, a double meshed stress finite difference method was proposed. By using Green’s formula, the difference equations for a double meshed finite difference method were obtained, and then considering the integral hourglass damping and static damping, the basic function of stress wave propagation was programmed by using VB.NET program language and a code DMFD was developed. By using DMFD code, the propagation of P-waves along finite-length rock pillars was simulated, and the numerical results agree very well with the theoretical results. This indicates that the double meshed finite difference method as well as the DMFD code are effective. Finally, the blasting in Niutoushan hydropower station was simulated by using the DMFD code, and the numerical results generally agree with the experimental results. Compared to the UDEC simulation results, it can be seen that the simulation by DMFD code is more precise than that by UDEC code.
