Abstract
Traditional methods in predicting urban regional seismic damage based on single-degree-of-freedom systems and response spectra analysis cannot meet the accuracy and various requirements of comprehensive disaster prevention for modern cities. The multi-story concentrated-mass shear (MCS) model is the most suitable model for urban regional seismic damage prediction due to its satisfactory level of accuracy and relatively high efficiency. However, determining inter-story hysteretic models and associated parameters can be difficult. In this study, an MCS model for urban regional seismic damage simulation based on the widely used Hazus program is developed. A method for determining associated parameters based on the built-in statistical data in Hazus is proposed. The outcomes of this study are expected to provide referencing information for refining urban regional seismic damage prediction.
