APPLICATION OF QUADRATURE ELEMENT METHOD TO FIRE ANALYSIS OF PLANAR STEEL FRAMES

  • The quadrature element method (QEM) is developed for its application in the fire analysis of steel frames in fire and the program for the analysis of planar steel frames is also written.The comparison with general finite element program ABAQUS shows that the results of the QEM method can reach very high analysis accuracy with significantly less degree-of-freedom,and the method is more appropriate to be adopted in structural fire analyses.
