EXPERIMENTAL STUDIES ON SHEARING BEHAVIOR OF INTEGRAL ASSEMBLY RC BEAMS WITH PRECAST EXTERNAL SHELL AND CAST-IN-PLACE CORE CONCRETE

  • In order to investigate the shearing behavior of integral assembly reinforced concrete (RC) beams with precast external shell and cast-in-place core concrete, in this paper, two new-type integral assembly RC beams and one cast-in-place RC beams were fabricated, and the shearing capacity tests of RC beams were carried out. The load-deflection relations, cracking loads, ultimate shear capacity, strain-developing of stirrups and failure modes of the new-type integral assembly RC beams were investigated, and compared with those of cast-in-place RC beam. The experimental results demonstrated that the new-type integral assembly beams had the same shear behaviors as cast-in-place RC beam. Moreover, the calculation theory on the ultimate shear capability of the new-type integral assembly RC beams was investigated. The results can be referred to in the design of this new kind of integral assembly RC beams.
