AEROELASTIC-ACOUSTICS TIME DOMAIN SIMULATION BASE ON CFD/CSD COUPLING

  • The analysis of structural responses was only considered in a fixed sound field in the prior work using the traditional computational method for acoustic vibration, and the couple effect between an acoustic field and structural displacements and a flow field was often neglected. It is indicated that coupling between a structure and its acoustic filed can be significant. In this paper, a new aeroelastic-acoustics is presented. The CFD simulation is based on a finite volume employing Euler equation in NACA0012. Unsteady pressures are computed. The CFD/CSD coupling is used to predict the unsteady pressure of an AGARD445.6 wing, and the time domain numerical integration is then used to simulate the response of the structure as well as aerodynamic loading. The sound pressure level(SPL) on the structural surface is calculated from the root mean square(RMS) of the unsteady pressure.
