Abstract:
In accordance with requirements of seismic isolation structures, a type of slide-damping isolator with displacement limiting components and sealing cover was designed and made. Furthermore, experimental researches on the vertical and horizontal mechanics performance were carried out together with sealing and displacement limiting characteristics. Equivalent dynamic friction coefficient, horizontal stiffness, viscous damping ratio and other parameters are investigated. The dependence of mechanics performances on frequency, compressive stress is studied. Ultimate horizontal displacement and vertical bearing capacity are also tested. It is observed that the minimum of equivalent friction coefficient is 0.04, and the maximum of equivalent viscous damping ratio is 0.59. Moreover, it is found that lateral sliding deformation can be controled as expected, and sealing or displacement limiting performance is reliable.
