Abstract:
In this paper the deformations and stability in large axisymmetric deflections of shallow conical shells under centrally distributed pressures are investigated, The Newton-spline method for solving the nonlinear equations governing large axisymmetrie deflection of shallow conical shells is presentetd The buckling behavior is studied for a shell with fixed geometry when he size of the loaded area is allowed to vary, and for a fixed loaded area when the shell geometry is allowed to vary, Numerical results are given for v=0.3.
