Abstract:
By using a complex variable method, the stresses in an elastic ring and anisotropic plate with a circular hole reinforced by the ring are obtained when the plate is subjected to a uniform remote stress .It is shown from the numerical result obtained that the stress σ
θ of both the ring and the plate will diminish with the increase of the width of the ring. In addition, with the increase of the stiffness of the ring, the stress in the ring increases but the stress concentration in the plate decreases significantly .
