Abstract:
The durability issues of concrete structures have received extensive attention in coal mine area. Using the surface structures in Pingdingshan Coal Group as examples, some possible factors that influence concrete members are analyzed. By using atmosphere and rainfall monitoring, it is found that concrete carbonization and frost-and-thaw damage are the main environment factors influencing the concrete durability .More importantly, structure service life is another key influential factor and the durability of some structures that have been in service longer than its design life have severely decreased. Based on comparison of the reduced rate of concrete strength in different environment and for different service life spans, it is concluded that service life is the primary influential factor and atmospheric environmental is the secondary one. Finally, some measures for improving the structure durability were presented in the paper.
