Abstract:
Based on the analysis for the shaking table tests of six space structure-equipment model systems, a series of characteristics of dynamic interaction between structures and equipment are investigated. It is shown that the change of the frequency spectrum of the compound system is a basic reason which leads to the dynamic response difference among different structural systems. The existence of equipment intends to reduce the peaks of the response spectrum and widen the spectrum. The differences of earthquake response for symmetic structural system and asymmetic structural system are summarized. Some useful suggestions on seismic design of structure-equipment systems are presented.
