Abstract:
In modern high-rise constructions, opening beams are used extensively in reducing buildings’ story height and saving its space. However, the beam’s shear mechanism is changed worse and the mechanism is intricated by opening, especially in the plastic area-the end of the beam beside the column here. By applying cycle loading, laboratory studies on the five beams of RC-frame with circular opening in the end are carried out, and the mechanical behavior of the beams of RC-frame with end circular opening are studied. The better method to enforce the opening beams is presented by analysing the failure properties and anti-seismic hysteretic characteristics of opening beams with different opening size and reinforced methods.
