Abstract:
Based on the fundamental equation of an anisotropic rectangular plate in plane stress problem,an accurate general displacement solution is obtained. This general solution consists of either the combinations of trigonometric and hyperbolic functions,or algebraic polynomials. The first one can satisfy the problems with arbitrary boundary conditions along four edges;and the second one can satisfy the problems with arbitrary boundary conditions at four corners.Boundary conditions are used to determine the integral constants in the general solution.Consequently, the general solution can be used to solve plane stress problems with arbitrary boundary conditions. As an example,a symmetric angle-plied laminated composite plate with uniform distributed displacements and non-uniform distributed displacements on four edges is analyzed.
